A beautiful yellow male Labrador retriever offered for stud. He is 95 pounds of mass and muscle with a classic English Labrador head and body type. Shiner is a very sweet, gentle dog who loves his birds! He has a correct Labrador coat, so cold weather is usually not an issue when he is hunting. He's excellent with children, gets along with other dogs and has impeccable manners in the house.
Shiner's Pedigree is a combination of both Show and Field. His father, CH Aliho's Igloo Iggy, MH, UDX, had an all show pedigree. Iggy was owned and trained by me. He was one of a relatively few CH/MH Labradors in AKC history with upper level obedience titles also. He also placed in the AKC Qualifying stake in field trials. Shiner's mom, Merganser's Ruby, JH, WC, CGC, is a show/field cross with her father being Merganser's Hacker, MH, WC, CGC and an impressive all field pedigree. Traits from both of Shiners parents have shown up in his field abilities and gentle temperament.
Shiner attained his Master Hunter title at 28 months old in six straight hunt tests. He is Qualified all age in field trials and will be continuing to participate in these events as well as rally and obedience. Shiner has excellent hips, normal elbows, is EIC & CNM clear and has ACVO eye clearance. Check out his pedigree!
Aliho Kennels is a small hobby kennel located in Roseburg, Oregon. The name "Aliho" is a combination of "Alaska" and "Idaho", two places I have connections with. Alaska is where got started training dogs. Now, after several moves, I call Oregon home and continue training and caring for all my canine friends.
My dogs have all been trained and handled by me in a variety of performance events throughout the years. These events are mainly through the AKC and include confirmation, obedience, rally, hunt tests, and field trials. I have also participated in NAHRA , UKC, and ASDRA (Alaska Sled Dog & Racing Assoc.) events. I have trained and shown big dogs, little dogs and a lot in between.
This is my hobby and I love what I do. I give my dogs a lot of individual attention and they are definitely members of my family. This website is a conglomeration, past and present, of some of the dogs that I have owned, trained and handled in these events. Their accomplishments are reflected in their titles.
